Here's a link so you can see for yourself.

I wonder how many fires have occurred on Ferrari street?
![]() 10/13/2013 at 20:37 |

Pajero. The most unfortunate car name ever. Saw some last week in the Bahamas and had a good laugh.

Looks like it's part of a giant housing development called Village East Executive Homes - developer must've been a gearhead. A lot more creative than the suburban street names we get in the US - how many variations on like the same 5 Olde Englishe names can you do?
![]() 10/13/2013 at 20:40 |

My grandmother's neighborhood is like that. How awesome would it be to live on Corvette Road?

You can keep your highfalutin Ferrari street. I'll be in my modest (and very successful) home on Escort.

But you can have bacon and eggs, and it will be a Continental breakfast!
I think what you need to do is get a Continental, park it curbside on Continental Drive, and eat your breakfast. Then, no matter what it is, it shall become a Continental Breakfast. Unless you're feeling sick that day, in which it shall become an Incontinent Breakfast.

Yeah, it's a good second car / South Dakota winter beater for us. That's about the extent of my love affair with it.

It's long enough to dump the clutch at the rev limiter and do a one legged burnout in to a parked car.

Is that a manual 8 speed gear box pattern?
![]() 10/13/2013 at 22:48 |

I'll see your Ferrari and raise you a Delahaye. And an Aston Martin, a Bentley, a Jaguar and a Mercedes and throw in a Healy and a Lancia for good measure.
This is in Lindenwold NJ, I grew up not far from this neighborhood.
Plus, too and also, the street where I work used to be named Henry Ford II Avenue and has been recently renamed in honor of the new tenant of what used to be Ford's Atlanta Assembly Plant - Porsche.
![]() 10/13/2013 at 22:50 |
|
That's so full of win I actually want to do it. That combination (I'm thinking Continental Mark II for the car) would make an Egg McMuffin classy.
![]() 10/13/2013 at 22:51 |

I'd build a house on Ferrari Street, but I don't think I could afford the fire insurance.

Someone on Oppo made a post about car spotting on Google Street View. I then went onto Maps and after a few failed atemps at looking for cars, I searched some car names. When I looked up Audi, I got this.
![]() 10/13/2013 at 22:53 |
|
Is this heaven?
Imagine being able to say, "Yea the party's at my place! Where?! Oh it's just on the corner of
Jensen and Jaguar
"
I need to visit this place. If a Jaguar and an Interceptor are actually parked outside the house on the corner, I will proceed to soil my pantaloons.

We may not have car brands, but we've got a bunch of roads named after F1 World Champions in South Australia:
See if you can spot the odd one out...
![]() 10/13/2013 at 22:55 |

I wonder if there is a 911 Porsche Street there...
![]() 10/13/2013 at 22:57 |

In suburban subdivisions, it's usually things like Tudor, Sheffield, Redcoat, Thornberry, etc. I remember reading that the repeating names have caused problems for emergency services in figuring out which neighborhood to respond to - designating something as a court, circle, crescent, close, turn, drive, road, run, or street isn't always enough to distinguish.

Dammit - they were obviously contemporary F1 drivers at the time those roads were put in, not world champions - Capelli, Streiff and Johansson didn't even have any F1 victories. Still, there is one which isn't named after an F1 driver.
![]() 10/13/2013 at 23:25 |

Pretty similar- 4 door, 7 seat, V6, 4WD. The Montero have an even-more-useless full size rear swing door vs the Trooper's split rear door. It's incredibly annoying in parking lots, garages with the doors closed, curb side, pretty much anywhere.
![]() 10/13/2013 at 23:31 |
|
Yeah, but I'm sure this V6 might be a bit less anemic than mine haha, Trooper's showing some age...

Mines got 155k tired miles. I picked it up a few months ago as a winter beater (we just had a blizzard with 10 foot drifts, no car was going anywhere). It's a good run about car, nice for buying oversized stuff at stores. Needs Valve Cover Gaskets buuuut adding a quart of oil every few hundred miles is easier and cheaper. The 4WD lights flash on the dash (showing the front axle not disconnecting even though it never was shifted into 4WD - likely just a faulty sensor) but I genuinely like driving it. Comfy, smooth, sits high, etc. I like it. I did look for troopers, I guess I just like boxy SUVs.
This back door is the worst thing though. So annoying 99% of the time.
